Ivie Mae Block: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Block Size: 10” x 20”

This block will make a beautiful pillow with a few borders added, or you can add it to your latest quilt project. At Academy of Applique we will be working on just this block. It has a lot of fun detail and you will learn a lot. The vines are just 1/8" wide, and most of the pieces are small making it a dainty little block. Jill's method teaches prepared-edge appliqué using a paper template to turn the seam allowances over with starch and a hot iron. This method gives great results, even for small pieces.

Techniques include points and flags, rounded edges, perfect circles, small bias tape (1/8"), reverse appliqué, inside and outside curves, and linings. Jill will also teach the stitching techniques and all about threads, etc.
