Make sure you get all of your tools and supplies you need before we meet in Williamsburg!

Joy Ride Class: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Block Size: 20” x 20”

We will be working on the center block of my quilt, “Joy Ride.” This darling block has a lot of detail and small pieces. Techniques include prepared edge applique using starch and an iron to turn the seam allowance. Jill’s methods and 
technique give great results. You will learn points and flags, round edges, small and medium circles, inside and outside curves, inside points, bias tape, 1/8” stems, linings, embroidery details, etc.

SUPPLY LIST:

  • Jillily Studio Maker Paper

  • Jillily Studio notions: Starch Brush*, Quilter’s Digit*, Appli-Glue*, Poke-A-Dots*, Needles* all of these items are included in my Applique Set OR bundle the Maker Paper and Applique Set together HERE
  •  ¼” and 3/8” Bias Tape Makers
  • Fray Check
  • Matching threads (Purchase my matching collection by Aurifil --7 colors, small spools)
  • White, pink, red embroidery floss, and embroidery needle
  • Pencil, paper scissors
  • Fabric scissors (small and medium--I prefer Karen Kay Buckley or Kai)
  • Light box (optional)
  • Jillily Studio Press It Pad
  • Firm Pressing surface and iron (I prefer Oliso mini project iron) Irons are also available in class.
  • Personal light such as Daylight or Ott
  • Spray Starch

FABRICS:

  • 22” x 22” Blue print for background
  • 1/2 yard White
  • 1/4 yard Black print #1
  • 1/8 yard Black print #2
  • 1/4 yard Red print
  • 1/4 yard Green #1
  • 1/8 additional yard each of red, pink, blue, green

 

LAB FEE: $10 due in class, includes Block Placement Diagram, Master applique patterns, applique patterns printed on Maker Paper, 3-layered Maker Paper circle templates (8) and a starch cup. 


Bouquet Boxes Class: Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Block Size: 16” x 16”

We will be working on one block from my quilt, “Bouquet Boxes.” The quilt features four different blocks, each with a wavy appliqued border. The fabrics are from Jill’s new “Perennial” fabric collection by Riley Blake Designs. The block we are working on is the upper left block. Techniques include prepared edge applique using starch and 
an iron to turn the seam allowance. Jill’s methods and technique give great results even for the beginner. You will learn points and flags, round edges, small circles, inside and outside curves, inside points, bias tape, 1/8” stems, linings, etc.
